If you want football data in BigQuery, you want the warehouse to be the product: full history, joined and queryable with SQL, refreshed on a schedule you can plan around, under a licence that matches what you will do with the answers. Dribble's BigQuery product is exactly that. We run the data pipeline; you bring your SQL.
The dataset in one paragraph: entity, match, appearance, transfer, and event tables, with 57M+ event rows carrying Opta XY coordinates, 1.5M+ appearances, 86K+ team-match rows, across 32 competitions from 2020 to the present. All football data on the platform is sourced from Opta under licence (Terms, section 7), including pre-shot expected goals (Opta qualifier 321).
The Three Tiers
| Starter $49/mo | Pro $149/mo | Max $499/mo | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Licence | Personal and academic | Commercial | Commercial |
| Best for | Research, learning, personal models | Apps, dashboards, models, published research | Deep event and model work |
| Refresh | Monthly | Weekly, lands 24 to 48 hours after the whistle | Daily snapshots, after 06:00 UTC ingestion |
| Player data | Core fields only | Full biographical data | Full biographical data |
| Event detail | Full event tables, Opta XY | Full event tables, Opta XY | Plus normalized Premier League qualifiers (corners, crosses, blocked shots, periods, pass end coordinates), named lineups and formations, revision history |
| Annual price | $490/yr | $1,490/yr | $4,990/yr |
All three tiers carry the full dataset structure: the same competitions, the same event depth, the same tables. What changes is the licence, the refresh cadence, and the depth of player and qualifier detail. That is deliberate: you should be choosing on what you will do with the data, not on which rows you are allowed to see.
How Access Works
You submit a Google account email or a service account at dribble360.com/subscribers and receive a Data Viewer grant. Queries run from your own GCP billing project, and your account needs the BigQuery Job User role. Google includes 1TB of query processing a month free, then charges $5/TB, paid to Google, not to us. The subscriber workspace includes sample CSVs (player matches and match events), the full schema, and SQL, Python, and Node examples, so most buyers validate the tables before their first invoice.
Because the tables sit behind your own grant, the workflow is the one your team already knows: scheduled queries, joins against your own data, exports to notebooks or dashboards, and models trained on the full history at once rather than paged through an API.
The Licence, Tier by Tier
Starter is for personal and academic use only. Pro and Max permit commercial derived products: build and sell apps, dashboards, and models, and publish research commercially. Your derived statistics, aggregates, and visualisations are your work product on those tiers. Raw-data redistribution is not included by default on any tier and requires a separately signed Max order form and data-licence addendum, subject to Dribble's upstream rights (Terms, sections 6 and 8).
Competitions beyond the 32 are available as a BigQuery Site custom tier: $999 per competition per 10-season batch, one time, tables delivered to your GCP project in 1 to 3 days after payment, with a signed quote and contract (20 seasons at 1.8 times the batch price, 30 seasons at 2.5 times).
Two honest limits. The data is post-match, not a live feed. And our xG is pre-shot (qualifier 321): post-shot xG is specified but not yet shipped.
Frequently Asked
How do I get football data into BigQuery? Subscribe, submit your Google account email or service account at dribble360.com/subscribers, and query the granted tables from your own GCP project. No data movement, no exports to babysit.
What does it cost, including query charges? The subscription is $49, $149, or $499 a month by tier. Queries are billed by Google to your project: the first 1TB each month is free, then $5/TB.
Which BigQuery plan should I choose? Starter for personal and academic research. Pro for anything commercial, including dashboards, models, and published research, on a weekly refresh. Max when you need daily snapshots, normalized qualifiers, lineups and formations, and revision history.
What competitions are covered? 32 competitions, ingested daily: Europe's top five leagues and their domestic cups, the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, MLS, the Brasileirão, the Saudi League, the Turkish Süper Lig, the Eredivisie, the Belgian First Division A, and more (full list on the pricing page, audited October 2026). Custom tiers cover a further 2,172 competitions in the Opta outlet.
Can I keep my derived stats if I cancel? Derived statistics and aggregates you produced are your work product on the commercial tiers. Raw rows may not be retained or redistributed as data once access ends; redistribution always requires a signed addendum.
Is there an API instead? Yes, the same data is served by a REST API from $19/mo, and as downloads (Legacy Archive, $49 one-time). BigQuery is the right route when your questions need full-history SQL rather than endpoints or files.
Your warehouse, already loaded. BigQuery Pro is $149/mo with the commercial licence and weekly refresh; Max is $499/mo with daily snapshots. See Plans and Pricing
